“No mother should have to see her child’s life cut short because of hate”
-Judy Shephard

Seven years ago today, a innocent young man was taken from a bar, brutally beaten, murdered, and left on a fence, like some scarecrow.

It would be awfully nice to think that we are past violence like this, but we know that it is not true.

On this very aniversary, a man was handed a 4 year prison sentance for the murder a transgender woman. "Gay/Trans Panic" still works.

There is still no federal hate crime legislation for sexual orientation (of any kind), nor for gender identity.

A few self-righteous police officers still believe their duty to "protect and serve" does not include "freaks of nature", and a few of those even join into the disgrace.

There were 1,792 reported hate crimes against LGBT individuals last year alone. That figure is rising.

What are you going to do to end the silence?

I figue it's worth a shot, and not the worst musical I could be forwording. Besides...  there should be more musicals. They make the world a melodic place. Blogging about this trailer for RENT makes me eligible for free Xanga Premium for life...

THE COFFEE BAR OPENS MONDAY MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is where i get to sell myself. if you like coffee, soda, lattes, need emotional support, a study-buddy or someplace to hang out with a chatty barista and a senior, please, join us! whoohoo!

so i am actually exited about this year. the teachers are good and i am quite happy with my advisior, Dr. Losier. I get to explore some exiting works about a topic that i can sink ma teeth into, which will be much facinating.

went over to rebecca's to work on the duo interp. its way out there, but rather peaceful and pastoral (until you notice the cookie cutter developments encroaching on your setting). we have now decided to do satre's "la putain respectuse" ("the respectable whore") for our duo interp, which means we will have to edit it a fair amount (length and language) before presenting, however it is a really intense pice that will hopefully go over well.

and the final point, if BEZANSON really can read every entry we attach his name to, i challenge him to tell me of one specific point from this entry on monday, and i will buy him coffee from the coffee bar. cheers!
